Trinity Valley Pesticide Recertification programs set for Dec.18
Producers needing to get pesticide recertification credits toward renewing their applicators license can get six continuing education units Dec. 18 at the Mabank Fire Station, 111 E. Mason St. in Mabank.
This program is jointly sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Henderson, Kaufman and Van Zandt counties.
The program will begin with registration at 8 a.m. The first speaker will begin at 9 a.m.
Speakers and topics include:
Erfan Vafaie, extension program specialist entomology – Integrated Pest Management
Dr. Vanessa Corriher-Olson, associate professor and extension forage specialist – Forages
Jason Gaskamp, wildlife and range consultant, Noble Foundation – Boar Buster
Jack LeClair, sales manager Bayer – Brush Control
Don Renchie, extension program leader and coordinator Pesticide Safety Education Program – Laws and Regulations
Jason Ellis, district forester, Texas A&M Forest Service – Prevention and Treatment of Urban Tree Pests
Six continuing education units will be provided towards the re-certification of pesticide licenses:
1 - Laws and Regulations; 2 - Integrated Pest Management; 3 - General
Cost of the program is $25 and includes a barbecue lunch.
