Farnsworth among Christmas on the Bricks entertainers
Organizers behind this year’s Christmas on the Bricks continued to put in a heavy workload this week finalizing events and entertainment for the event.
Sponsored by Citizen’s National Bank, the event is scheduled to include many local favorites including Breakfast with Santa, a car show, 5k fun run, live entertainment as well as vendors and a Christmas in the Movies-themed parade.
One of this year’s performers, scheduled to take the stage at 11 a.m., will be Van Zandt County raised singer-songwriter Jaden Farnsworth.
Her online bio notes: “Born and raised in East Texas, Jaden Farnsworth is sweetly but surely making her presence known in the music world, starting close to her southern home. At the age of 3, Jaden performed for the very first time, singing a solo in her church home for a Christmas event. A few years later, her first original song was written when she was a snaggle-toothed 7 year old in her grandmother's kitchen.
“Throughout the years, Jaden continued to perform in school plays, church, and community events. The songbird thrived at age 13 when she picked up a guitar and began to pen several undeniably catchy tunes that she shared with family, friends, and, eventually, YouTube.
“Today, Jaden has released her debut album, Heart Sing, made up entirely of original songs.
“The album features 'Always Know', the title song 'Heart Sing', and 'Laugh For Me'. Heart Sing is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Google+, Rhapsody (and more), and available for live streaming on Spotify.”

A tentative events schedule released by organizers includes other events and attractions:
-Christmas Car Show sponsored by Texas Fire Alarm from 8 a.m. to noon at E. James Street;
-5k Reindeer Run sponsored by TVEC beginning at 9:30 a.m. on High Street;
-Breakfast with Santa sponsored by Russell Memorial United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wills point Community Center;
-Christmas in the Movies-themed parade through downtown beginning at 1 p.m;
-Vendors and live entertainment throughout the duration of the event on the Main Stage.
Additionally, the BRICK$ BUCK$ campaign, designed to encourage local shopping, will take place at 3 p.m. on the same day as Christmas on the Bricks on the main stage.
Participating businesses distributing tickets include: 20/20 Vision Care, 24 Market, Adele's, Bruce & Human Drug Store, Computer Image Concepts, Dairy Queen, Dr. Kimberly Neiman, Fairway Shoe Store, Grace Tanning & Salon, The Green House, Lone Star Grill, Milano's Pizza, Mitchell Oil Company, Pudgy's Mexican Food, Ramsey's Roadhouse & Pub, Sweethearts Gifts, and Wills Point Hardware.
According to the chamber, “The participating local businesses receive rolls of numbered tickets (2000 in each roll). Customers will receive one free ticket just for coming into your business, and for every $10 they spend, up to $1,000, they will receive additional tickets. They can receive up to 101 tickets per visit.”
Tickets will be distributed by participating retailers until Dec. 12, with the drawing scheduled for 3 p.m. at the main stage of the Christmas on the Bricks event. The winning ticket for the BRICK$ BUCK$ promotion will be worth $5,000. The person and their winning ticket must be present to win.
