Steed, was drowned in a lake on his farm near Canton. Mr. Steed was fishing when the accident occurred. When he failed to return home by the hour his family was expecting him, they became alarmed and went to the lake to check on his welfare. His body was discovered in the water by a neighbor. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Saturday afternoon with interment in Hillcrest cemetery.
