The Wills Point ISD Board of Trustees will take on a different look moving into the summer months.
Bryan Southard, a member of the Wills Point ISD Board of Trustees since 2010, issued a letter to board members and the community at large after Monday night’s regularly scheduled monthly board meeting to announce his resignation to be effective June 16.
Southard, a 1998 Wills Point graduate, served on the board as both a trustee and vice president during his two terms on the board.
In announcing the decision, Southard stated, “Due to recent changes at my work, it has become necessary to relocate our family closer to my job. While I am excited for the direction my career is headed, I am saddened to leave the only place we have ever called home. This decision did not come easily and was a collective decision made by all members of my family. We will be leaving behind some of the best friends, family and people we have ever known.
“I would like to say thank you to all the current and past board members I have had the pleasure of serving with. You all are truly selfless people with a servant’s heart. My experience serving as a Wills Point Trustee has been very rewarding. It has been an experience I will never forget and has helped shape me as I move forward with my career.
