Nadyne James 1924-2015

Funeral services for Nadyne James, 90, of Plano and formerly of Wills Point were held Monday, May 18, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Wills Point with Ted Deen Jr. officiating.

A private burial followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Ellen Nadyne Miracle was born Oct. 23, 1924, in Wills Point to Oscar Jehue and Ellen West Miracle. She grew up in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School.

After graduating, Nadyne worked at Rose Dry Goods, Calloway Motor Company and Thurman’s Variety Store.

She married Jack Delbert James on July 19, 1946, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point, where she is still a member. She later retired from Terrell State Hospital after many years of service.

Nadyne was an accomplished cook, seamstress and crafter. She enjoyed music, TV, crossword puzzles, dominoes, growing flowers and especially playing with her grandchildren.

Nadyne is preceded in death by her husband, Jack James; parents, O.J. and Ellen Miracle; sisters, Robbye Roberson and Willie Mae Lindsey; and brother, O.J. Miracle, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Jan James Cannefax and husband, Bobby of Allen and Jack James Jr. and wife, Judy of Rockwall; grandchildren, Eric Cannefax and wife, Misty of Lewisville, Travis Cannefax and wife, Jami of Logan, Utah, Justin James and wife, Lindsey of Rockwall, and Jennifer James of Richardson; great-grandsons, Finnley James, Mathias James, and Lucas Cannefax; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
