Edna Mae Melton 1936-2015
Funeral services for Edna Mae Melton, 78, of Quinlan, formerly of Wills Point, were held May 9, 2015, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright officiating. Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Mrs. Melton passed away May 5, 2015, in Dallas.
She was born Oct. 6, 1936, in Ennis the daughter of Turner Dobbs and Mary Smith Dobbs. She was raised in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School.
On May 7, 1954, she married Jimmy Melton in Dallas.
She was employed by Dahlgren Manufacturing in Dallas, Baylor Hospital in Dallas and retired in 2000 from JS Helwig & Son in Terrell.
Mrs. Melton had lived in Wills Point for 35 years prior to moving to Quinlan to live with her daughter, Cindy. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing for her grandchildren and volunteering at her church. She was a member of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Turner Dobbs and Mary Dobbs Beechem; her husband, Jimmy Melton; and a brother, William Dobbs.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy White and her husband Terry of Quinlan and Linda Daniels of Gun Barrel City; brother, Franklin Dobbs and his wife Margie of Ennis; sister, Catherine Wilson of Mesquite; and two grandsons, Jimmy White and Cody Daniels and his fiancée Michaela Kee.
